Sun City Center, FL – South Bay Hospital has been awarded a Top Workplaces 2021 honor by The Tampa Bay Times for the third year in a row.
In her letter to hospital caregivers announcing the award, South Bay Hospital Chief Executive Officer, Sheldon Barr wrote, “We’ve experienced a year like no other, and you have each risen to the challenge like the healthcare heroes you are. You have demonstrated what a team of talented, passionate and resilient caregivers can do and it is your support of one another and our culture that results in workplace recognition such as this. This reinforces our FAMILY focus at South Bay and commitment to our common purpose.”
The list is based solely on employee feedback gathered through a third-party survey administered by employee engagement technology partner Energage, LLC. The anonymous survey uniquely measures 15 drivers of engaged cultures that are critical to the success of any organization: including alignment, execution, and connection, just to name a few.
This is the twelfth year that the Tampa Bay Times has identified top Tampa Bay area workplaces.
“I am so inspired and impressed by our caregivers’ commitment to our care standards and to each other,” said Barr. “We provide compassionate care to those we are privileged to serve here, and we do that together embracing safety, empathy, hospitality and efficiency.”
This recognition is particularly poignant during the pandemic. Like many other organizations, South Bay Hospital had to learn to adapt and change with safety requirements.
“In times of great change, it is more important than ever to maintain a connection among employees,” said Eric Rubino, Energage Chief Executive Officer. “When you give your employees a voice, you come together to navigate challenges and shape your path forward based on real-time insights into what works best for your organization.”
